What is IEC?
Mandatory for Export/Import
Any business or individual engaging in the import or export of goods or services must obtain an IEC.
It is used for facilitating the smooth movement of goods and services in and out of India.
The application does not require renewal, and once granted, the code remains valid for a lifetime unless canceled or suspended.
An Import Export Code (IEC) is a unique 10-digit alpha numeric code issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. This code is a mandatory requirement for any business or individual looking to engage in international trade, whether it's importing goods into India or exporting products abroad.
