Any business conducting import/export operations without obtaining the IEC may face legal actions as per the provisions of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992. The government reserves the right to impose penalties, suspend or revoke the business license, or take other actions as per the laws governing foreign trade.
